Senior Underwriter for Bridging Loans

Working as part of an established and successful team you will be responsible for underwriting approved development and bridging loan applications within company lending criteria and personal mandate. Ensuring that the principles of the DIP are adhered to, in full, throughout the processing of the application. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully assess and underwrite loan applications in line with credit policy.
  • Creation and maintenance of professional and open relationships with business providers.
  • Identification of incomplete or contradictory information received and successful resolution of risk and/or issue.
  • Recommends loans to the Underwriting Director and Credit Team where they fall outside of the lending mandate held.
  • Does so with clarity and good judgment.
  • Participates in and contributes to departmental meetings including making suggestions.
  • Possible coaching a team of Underwriters.
  • Participates in and contributes to departmental meetings including making suggestions to improve processes or (where applicable) amend policy.
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of the regulation as it affects loans and keeps abreast of potential/actual changes.
  • Accurately assess the risk attributed to the application ensuring that the loan is both suitable and fit for purpose.
  • Identify any potentially fraudulent activity and escalate any compliance concerns.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of underwriting to include holding a lending mandate, ideally in Bridging Loans or Development Finance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of loan processing systems.
  • Knowledge of regulation as it affects bridging loans and proven ability to implement those principles throughout the underwriting process.
  • Understanding and awareness of GDPR and legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team Player.

Mortgage and Protection Adviser

You will be joining an experienced team of mortgage and protection advisers who pride themselves in first-class customer service, drive, and high-quality industry knowledge and experience.

 

You will receive full support and have access to a whole market mortgage panel, exclusive mortgage products, and excellent insurance providers. You will be responsible for reviewing the mortgage and protection requirements across a wide range of clients, providing research on the market, and identifying suitable products.

Essential:

  • CeMAP qualification or industry equivalent
  • Demonstrable track record of success and knowledge within financial services, specialising in mortgage and protection advice.
  • Excellent understanding of your local market movement, activities, and competitors.

  • Full driving licence.
  • Experience in advising on a range of products including residential, BTL, commercial, and bridging.

Bridging Finance Ltd Case Progressor

Purpose Of The Case Progressor – Bridging Finance Role

To manage post cases, from funding to redemption, to ensure that they complete with the original terms by implementing any account management and redemptions strategies necessary.

 

Working hours – 35.5 hours per week

Manage the Key relationships within the post completion unit, by devising and agreeing an action plan of all key elements and reviewing, developing and implementing service level agreements and reports, including any key financial implications that can be presented to the Board to provide them with surety that the performance of key stakeholders are performing to the expected standard, mitigating risk to the business in line with the Boards appetite.

Main duties & Responsibilities for the Case Manager – Bridging Finance:
  • Monitor the progress of loans through their term
  • Monitor milestones, key events and conditions subsequent during the term of the loan
  • Managing clients and brokers on a daily basis via telephone and email to gather information, identify issues and propose remediation plans.
  • Identifying and appointing administrators or receivers where appropriate
  • Managing relationships with solicitors, asset managers, receivers and administrators on a regular basis
  • Dealing with any breaches or noncompliance of the loan terms and chasing clients for payment or compliance
  • Prepare redemption statements
  • Deal with any further advances or extensions required
  • Build relationships with Key Partners and Investors
  • Knowledge of Bridging Finance along with first and second charge residential, development and commercial loans.
  • Ability to review and challenge documentation.
  • Good team player and able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of the conveyancing process
  • Background in Financial services
  • Use of excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Have numeracy skills
  • Good organisational skills

 

Pay Band : £20,000 entry level to £30,000 fully experienced and qualifications
